Back in January I jumped in my car and set out for Cumbria, I was heading to the Lodore Falls Hotel for Chris and Shani’s pre wedding shoot. Lodore Falls is a gorgeous hotel tucked in to the hills that line the shore of the stunning Dewent Water in the UK’s Lake District National Park. With a location like this, I knew it was going to be a great shoot, I was excited about it. However, nothing had prepared me for the weather … snow, and lot’s of it! I totally missed the forecast. Half of me wanted to turn around and run a mile, the other half (the creative, not as sensible half) wanted to carry on … it will be amazing, totally worth getting stranded, go on. I am so thankful I went with my creative instinct, I hope you will agree that it was totally worth it and I didn’t get stuck either.
This weekend I will be heading down to Hereford for Shani and Chris’s gorgeous wedding at stunning Dewsall Court. I can’t wait!
A little about from Shani…
How We Met
We’ve been together for nearly 9 years after meeting in Mallorca. Chris was on holiday with his friends, one of whom was my cousin who introduced us. After getting on so well that day, we kept in touch and got together a couple of months later.
The Proposal
In February 2015, Chris took me on a helicopter trip to the glacier at Mount Cook in New Zealand. As we landed on the snow, he proposed with a gorgeous vintage style ring that he had made for me by Guy & Max in London. We were visiting family over in NZ so had some wonderful celebrations with them before returning home for more!
The Wedding
Our wedding venue is the beautiful Dewsall Court in Hereford. As soon as we experienced its relaxed and homely feel, we knew we had to get married there. With a chapel, country house and barn for the reception all on one site, it was the perfect venue for our guests to have a great weekend away.
Oh and I have to add … Shani is the owner of the online homeware store The Great British Home. You should pop across and check it out, she has some seriously nice stuff.
